A PRESTON dog lover is grooming her pets for success as she prepares to take part in the cream-of-the-crop dog show Crufts.
Sarah Morgan, 19, of Selbourne Street, made it through to compete in a final for dog handlers as part of the prestigious show with her two pet Scottish terriers.
Sarah, a shoe shop assistant, will be looking to impress judges tomorrow (March 8) at the Birmingham NEC when she parades one-year-old Bracken in front of the judges to show off her handling skills.
She will also be showing off Penny, a two-year-old terrier, who will be competing against 26 other dogs and their owners.
Sarah qualified to the finals after winning the North West heat in Samlesbury.
She will compete against other dog handlers aged from eight to 25 in what is billed as 'Junior Crufts' in a bid to scoop the overall prize of senior dog handler.
If she is sucessful she will compete in the World Dog Show in Amsterdam.
Sarah said: "When Penny is in the ring she will be judged on her movement, how she conducts herself, her bone structure and the condition of her coat."
The Morgan family own ten dogs and have competed in shows for the past eight years.
"We have always had dogs and when I was 11 we started to do the shows," said Sarah.
Younger sister Vicky, 17, also helps out in the shows with the walking, which is a big task. Sarah said: "Most of our dogs are retired now so they sleep on the sofa a lot, we have a couple of Highland white terriers, but the rest are Scotties."
