COLNE Municipal Hall centenary celebrations began yesterday with a performance by Colne Orchestral Society - the ensemble which played at the opening concert in 1902.
Some of the music was the same as 100 years ago as a week of special events got under way.
The anniversary date is Friday March 15, when Jackie Sanderson's School of Dance will be performing.
There is a display of photographs and pictures reflecting 100 years of entertainment.
Irish Vocalist Mary Duff will be on stage tomorrow.
On Thursday, chamber orchestra the Manchester Camerata will entertain and the Lancashire Student Jazz Orchestra will be on stage on Saturday.
When the hall first opened there was a grand procession, led by Colne Borough Prize Brass Band, from town hall.
