A MAN was due to appear in court today accused of kidnapping his former partner.
The charges faced by Adrian Clemson, 33, of Rishton, relate to an alleged incident which began when the 30-year-old woman left Daisyfield baths, in Blackburn, at 8.15am on Saturday in a silver VW Sharan, registration number PE0 20EL.
Police said the car was driven along Whalley Old Road through Little Harwood and on to Blackburn Old Road.
They said the car was then driven through York village towards Painters Wood, where the woman got out.
They said she returned to the car with a man at the Judge Walmsley pub car park in Billington, before it was driven through Whalley and Sabden. A man was arrested at the 77 Garage on the A59 in Gisburn.
Clemson, 33, of Rishton, was later charged with kidnapping and was due to appear before Blackburn magistrates today.
