GREAT Harwood seek to try and reclaim some better form at Skelmersdale United tonight after failing to make the most of their Division One trip to Atherton.
Great Harwood followed two improved performances with a display that left manager Denis Underwood frustrated by a failure to take chances.
"We played well for the first 20 minutes of each half, but we didn't take our chances," said Underwood.
"We did really well from the off, and again after half-time but then conceded crucial goals on the break.
"We were still in it with a Graeme Lightbown goal in the second half, but because we conceded straight after that the game was gone."
After looking so good a breakaway gave Atherton a 1-0 half-time lead and the pattern repeated itself around the hour mark when the home side bagged a second.
However, the light at the end of the tunnel was switched on soon after as a penalty award allowed Lightbown to halve the lead, but Atherton had an instant response and then added a late killer blow.
"After good performances in games prior to the weekend we have to say it was a poor performance," admitted Underwood.
"But we have to take what we did before into tonight's game and address what happened at weekend."
