REGARDING Eric Leaver's 'It makes me laugh' remark (LET, February 20), that the revamp of Church Street in Blackburn includes making it traffic-free and then installing new traffic lights.
I was at the planning consultation meetings and they always showed that parking for a large number of cars and access for loading and deliveries to the banks and pubs would allow vehicles into the bottom half of Church Street.
One traffic light has been installed at the bottom of the street to let drivers into the mainstream of traffic at Salford in safety.
Think before you leap, Mr Leaver and make any more sarcastic remarks.
