Leigh RMI 0 Morecambe 1 by David Magilton
LEIGH RMI slumped to a second successive 1-0 home defeat in the space of four days.
The Hilton Park side had hoped that two home wins would have made Conference safety a formality but the two defeats have still left them with plenty of work to do.
They had been unbeaten in seven games but a second disappointing display has ruined the run. They were woeful in front of goal with Ian Monk, Tony Black and Michael Twiss all failing to apitalise on their chances.
Morecambe created few clear-cut chances and were fortunate with the goal when Wayne Curtis saw his shot cleared off the line by the influential Neil Durkin but the ball fell to Stewart Drummond on the edge of the box who made no mistake.
"The front lads movement was poor and the ball-in was dire. We got into great positions but we didn't get the quality of ball into the box," complained RMI manager Steve Waywell.
