A COMPANY, which has spent £23million on changing and improving Burnley homes is celebrating its second birthday.
Burnley & Padiham Community Housing celebrates two years of owning and managing Burnley Borough Council's former housing stock on Friday.
Over those two years, of the £23million spent on its 5,258 properties, the company has spent £13.6million on modernisation and maintenance.
This work has included installing central heating, new kitchens, double glazing and electrical rewiring.
It plans to spend a further £12.3million on modernisation and over £7.2million on repairs over the next financial year.
A company spokesman said: "Customers have a lot to be happy with, although everyone at the company will not be happy until all of its promises made at the time of transfer have been delivered.
"Although so much has been achieved we are only two years into the five year £30million improvement plan."
He added that there was still a great deal to be done and some customers had not yet seen the benefits of the company's investment programmes.
