SPANISH striker Yordi last night hinted he wants to make his move from Real Zaragoza to Rovers permanent when his loan deal runs out at the end of the season.
The 28-year-old frontman has proved a big hit with fans during his short time at Ewood so far.
And, after making his full debut last night, he has subsequently indicated he could be ready to commit his long-term future to Rovers.
That's if manager Graeme Souness decides he wants him to stay in the summer.
"At the moment the most important thing is to help Blackburn stay in the Premiership," said Yordi.
"But in May, when we've finished the season, if Blackburn Rovers are happy with me and I'm still happy here then we can talk about me maybe staying on permanently."
Since the Spaniard arrived on loan three weeks ago, Rovers' season has turned on its head, triggered by their 2-1 victory over Spurs in the Worthington Cup final.
And Yordi is delighted with the way things have panned out during his time in England after answering Souness's SOS.
"I'm very happy here. In the three weeks I've been in England, we've won the Worthington Cup and moved up in the table.
"So everything is going very well and I'm enjoying my time here," said the Spaniard.
"At Real Zaragoza, I had scored six goals before December but then the new coach signed another player in Savo Milosevic so I lost my place.
"And I didn't like that situation because I want to play every week.
"So when Blackburn called me and said 'do you want to come here?' I decided I would because I want to help them stay in the Premiership."
With Matt Jansen currently feeling the effects of a stomach bug and Andy Cole now set to miss the next three games through suspension, Yordi will have a major part to play in Rovers' survival bid over the next couple of weeks.
And, if responds with a couple of goals, then that will only intensify the clamour for him to sign permanently.
