PENDLE MP Gordon Prentice has repeated his call for the Government to make a statement on the hazards of organophosphate sheep dip.
Mr Prentice recently challenged Leader of the House Robin Cook to make a statement on the Government's position on the dip, following a report which showed that its use contributed to ill-health among farm workers.
Mr Prentice said: "We know that organophosphate sheep dips are hazardous and that farmers who use them have to be properly protected.
"I am pressing the Government to provide a clear statement of exactly what steps farmers must undertake when using these chemicals. We cannot allow them to put their health at risk."
