TWO Blackpool schools have won top awards for their work with pupils and parents.
Claremont Community Primary, Westminster Road, and Highfield High School, Highfield Road, Blackpool, were the only two schools in Lancashire to receive Charter Marks during the recent round of awards.
They were invited to a special ceremony at London's Queen Elizabeth II conference centre recently to receive their awards. Claremont head teacher Pat Wills put the school's success down to initiatives like the employment of a school counsellor and setting up an Asian women's group.
