NEIL Spencer scored his 19th goal of the season - and had two others disallowed - but Clitheroe's night was tarnished by a serious injury to Carl Greenwood.
Play was held up for 20 minutes after Greenwood suffered a suspected broken leg in the first half of this NWCL clash.
"It was a 50-50 challenge, but Carl came out far worse and he was taken to hospital," said player-manager Lee Sculpher. "The injury cast a cloud over the match and we obviously wish Carl a speedy recovery."
Clitheroe had the better of a scrappy opening but could not turn territorial supremacy into a tangible reward. They finally found a breakthrough in the 55th minute when Spencer got his head on a free kick from Mark Stewart to score at the far post.
Clitheroe looked likely to go on to add further goals but were caught out by a sucker punch 15 minutes from time when Curzon equalised on the break through Kieran Delaney.
The home side pushed forward in the final stages and Spencer twice felt he had won it only to see efforts cancelled out for offside and a foul respectively.
"We did not get the rub of the green on the decisions that was for sure," groaned Sculpher.
