RAMSBOTTOM have signed Trafford centre half Darren Blowman.

The defender, who moves down a division from the UniBond first division, will go straight into the side to meet Nantwich away in NWCL Division One tomorrow.

Central defenders Mike Smith (work commitments) and Stephen Shiel (suspension) are unavailable and Kelly was considering desperate measures until he secured Blowman's signature.

"I was going to ask someone to play at centre half who has never played at centre half before.

"Darren is someone I have been chasing for a while and he told Trafford the other day he wanted to find a new club and said he was interested in coming to us.

"I have quite a good relationship with the Trafford manager so he said that was fine."
