I MUST say thank-you for the recent article asking readers to host a visitor from Bury's French town of Tulle between April 2-7. Sadly, we had only one kind gentleman who responded to our urgent appeal.
I understand the reasons why many people cannot respond, but we are now left with the daunting prospect of 22 of the Tulle townspeople wishing to visit Bury but not being able to do so.
Our French visitors cannot understand that with their population of only 30,000, they can provide hosts for people from Bury, while Bury with a population of more than 180,000 cannot welcome all of them.
I ask again: Can anyone out there please help? If not, our planned programme of entertainment will be decimated. My telephone number if 0161 766 7194.
