ARMCHAIR adventurers are being invited to dust off their hiking boots and beat the winter blues with a life-saving challenge.

The Anthony Nolan Trust has recently launched the latest addition to its programme of overseas challenge events for 2003.

The aim of the organisation is to raise money to provide bone marrow and stem cell transplants for thousands of people facing a very different challenge of their own.

Daring climbers will hike up the permanently snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro.

At 5,895 metres, it is Africa's highest mountain and participants are assured that reaching its summit will be the trekking experience of a lifetime.

There are only 20 places available on the Kilimanjaro challenge, which will run from January 24 to February 1 2003.

Further information and application forms can be obtained from the Anthony Nolan Trust on 01865 875757.
