REGARDING the daffodils massacre (LET, March 11), would it not seem feasible in a future spring to allow the flowers to thrive on a central strip of the grass verge?
If it were to be neatly mown along the pavement edge and likewise on the road edge, leaving the daffodils to grow, bloom and die back naturally, honour might be satisfied.
We are accustomed to seeing daffodil clusters in longer grass on our park lawns, why not verges?
