A DECISION over whether to allow a resident to build a uPVC conservatory within the Lidgett and Bents Conservation Area, in Colne, has been put on hold to allow members of the Colne and District Committee time to visit the site.
The application relates to Dobb Rhydding, in Skipton Old Road, a semi-detached two-storey house.
Council officers recommended refusal of the proposal as they believed, after consulting English Heritage guidelines, that the design of the conservatory and the use of the white PVC-u frames would be unacceptable in the conservation area.
But members of the committee decided they would prefer to have a look at the house and the area to decide for themselves.
They heard that there were other similar conservatories in the area and that the frame would match the applicant's white PVC-u window frames.
