A HUSBAND and wife ended up in hospital today after a mystery incident at their home in Cliviger which left them both with burns.
Firefighters from Burnley were called to the home of Daniel Lord, 70, and his wife Beryl, 67, of Hall Park Avenue, at 2.04am.
Sub Officer Peter Kelly said: "The man called the ambulance service and they called us out. We got the message and persons had been burned.
"On arrival the fire was out but both the occupants of the house had suffered burns. She was quite shocked and badly burned on her upper body and he had suffered burns to his arm."
Mr Kelly said the fire appeared to have happened in the bathroom and the house was smoke damaged but there was no other fire damage.
