ROSSENDALE and Darwen MP Janet Anderson resisted the temptation to buy a new pair of shoes as she accompanied Bury North MP David Chaytor on a trip round Lambert Howarth footwear museum and shop.
She said: "The museum used to be on the site of the Gaghills Mill owned by Sir Henry Trickett, the slipper King of Rossendale, who is related to David's stepfather so he asked me if I would show him round.
"James Howarth who owns it showed me a letter from some people who travelled all the way from Portsmouth and written to him saying they had a lovely time here. It is definitely worth visiting and makes a great contribution to tourism in the area."
