A 33-YEAR-OLD Rishton man charged with kidnapping his ex-girlfriend has been granted bail by a Crown Court judge.
Adrian Albert Clemson, of Bridge Street, was remanded in custody when he first appeared at Blackburn magistrates charged with kidnapping mother-of-three Maura Emmett, 30, who is a swimming instructor at Daisyfield swimming baths, Blackburn.
She was allegedly bundled into a car outside her work last Saturday and driven through Little Harwood, to Whalley and on to Sabden before her ordeal eventually came to an end at a petrol station in Gisburn.
Judge Bolton granted Clemson bail on condition that he does not contact Miss Emmett or enter Blackburn other than to go to work at B Robinson and Co Ltd, of Kenyon Street, where he is operations manager.
