A DRUNKEN man who abused and threatened to kill a police officer had just found out his girlfriend had been having an affair and was pregnant.
Burnley Magistrates heard Robert Tunesi, 27, had had so much to drink he could not remember what he had done.
Tunesi, of Brownside Road, Burnley, admitted threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour and was conditionally discharged for 18 months.
Andy Robinson, prosecuting, said police were called to Brownside Road late at night.
Tunesi lunged towards an officer, was abusive and was being held back by his stepfather. He was having problems standing up and appeared to be drunk.
The defendant threatened to kill an officer, was lashing out and had to be put on the ground and restrained.
David Leach, defending, said Tunesi's girlfriend had just told him she had been having an affair and was preganant and ,not surprisingly, he was very upset.
He had been crying, was very emotional and got very drunk.
He went to a friend's house to confide in him and was so drunk he fell down the stairs.
Police were called but the defendant, who suffered from depression and anxiety, could not remember what he had done.
