YOUNGSTERS at Whalley's Oakhill College have been assured they are in safe hands, after a group of teachers brushed up on their first-aid skills as part of a specialist course.
The nine staff members from the Wiswell Lane college, from Acorns Nursery right through to the senior school, took part in the paediatric emergency care course, run by Visual Emergency Medical Services.
The group was given a thorough grounding in all aspects of first-aid, including basic life support for adults children and babies, recovery procedures, and how to deal with emergencies such as choking, wounds, fractures, head injuries and poisons and stings.
