RAYMOND Parker, 20, of Meadowcroft, Lower Darwen, was bound over in £100 to keep the peace for six months by Blackburn magistrates after admitting a breach of the peace.
A charge of using threatening behaviour was dismissed.
Eddie Harrison, prosecuting, said police on duty in Darwen town centre in the early hours of the morning had seen Parker leaning over a man who was on the floor repeatedly punching him in the face.
"The man who was being hit did not wish to make a complaint and it would appear it was a fall out between friends," said Mr Harrison.
Joanne Lovick, defending, said Parker, a glass fitter, had no previous convictions.
