EWOOD enforcer Garry Flitcroft has reacted angrily to reports of unrest in the Rovers camp by insisting the current team spirit at the club is the best he has ever known.
Several stories in yesterday's nationals claimed Andy Cole was ready to walk out on Rovers in the summer after a number of heated bust-ups with his team-mates.
But club captain Flitcroft has vehemently denied those reports by insisting Graeme Souness's squad are totally united.
"Those stories in the papers were absolute rubbish," blasted Flitcroft, who was due to link up with his team-mates in Dubai today.
"All I can say is the team spirit in the dressing room is the best I've ever known it in all my time at the club.
"That's partly down to the gaffer and partly down to the fact that we've got a lot of great young lads who are buzzing with enthusiasm.
"So as for all this talk of there being dressing room unrest, nothing could be further from the truth.
"There haven't been any bust-ups between anyone and if there had, then I'd stamp it out straight away because it would reflect badly on me as captain.
"I've been in situations before in my career where the dressing room has been split and the players have got the manager sacked as a result and I certainly won't let that happen here."
As for reports of Cole being unhappy and struggling to mix with his new team-mates, Flitcroft insists he has seen no evidence to support those claims.
"I lived with Coley at Lilleshall when we were kids so I know he is his own man and he says what he thinks but he has got a dry sense of humour and you can have a laugh with him in the dressing room," said the skipper.
"When he came to this club he knew the situation and he came to try and score the goals to keep us in the Premiership which he has done so far.
"So I don't know where all these stories are coming from.
"The last thing I heard, he was having a new house built in the Manchester area so why would he then want to move to Fulham?"
Rovers reserves are in action against Middlesbrough tonight at Morecambe's Christie Park (kick-off 7pm).
