STUART McCall will be doing everything in his power to make it a miserable Burnley debut for Paul Gascoigne but he admitted: "On and off the pitch he is different class."
The two midfielders were in the same Glasgow Rangers side just a few years ago and tonight they will come face to face at Turf Moor as Gazza makes his much anticipated debut.
"I am really looking forward to it," admitted the 37-year-old former Scotland international who is one of the greatest players in Bradford's history.
"He is a brilliant bloke and a brilliant player, the most generous person I have ever met."
McCall left Rangers three months after Gascoigne did and he hopes that his former team mate will be a huge success at Turf Moor, even if it has a detrimental effect on him.
"I had got him lined up to play for a Rangers XI in my testimonial game that is on April 28," he admitted.
"That would not have been a problem if he was still at Everton but now he has gone to Burnley I think it could be a sticking point.
"Burnley are still right up there in the play-off places and if they stay there, which I hope they do for Gazza's sake, he will not be able to play. But we will look at that nearer the time."
For now McCall's one concern is to make sure that his side is ends its flirtation with the relegation zone at the foot of the table.
McCall's manager Nicky Laws knows that the Gazza factor will be in evidence tomorrow night - but he hopes it will work in his side's favour.
"The appearance of Gazza will make it exciting for Burnley but let's hope they think its done and dusted, let's get about them and see what happens.
"Expectation at Burnley is big because they have spent £1million on Robbie Blake, they've got David Johnson from Nottingham Forest and now Gazza so the supporters will be thinking this is their year. That means they'll have added pressure.
"Nobody is doubting Gazza's ability but he will find it different playing at this level. It is a lot more physical and he will not get time on the ball or respect."
Laws saw influential defender David Wetherall come through a reserve match against Aston Villa on Monday night and would like to recall him but he may be left on the bench.
Lee Sharpe has had a stomach bug and Andy Myers is definitely out.
