BLACKBURN Cathedral has a programme of nightly events during Holy Week, the week leading up to Easter Sunday.
Popular orchestral pieces by Gabrieli and Vivaldi, Handel's Organ Concerto in G minor and Mozart's Requiem, will be performed on Wednesday, March 27, at 8pm.
One of Lancashire's leading chamber choirs, the Renaissance Singers, will be performing all vocal duties for the evening, accompanied by The Northern Chamber Orchestra. The NCO, led by Nicholas Ward, is one of the leading professional orchestras in the North of England, and they have recordings on the Naxos label.
The relationship between NCO and the Renaissance Singers has been strong since 1994, and they have continued to impress Blackburn audiences with their high quality choral musical performances.
Tickets for the evening cost £10 and are available at Church House reception. Children under 16 can go for free.
