BLACKPOOL pupils are being encouraged to get shirty to win football equipment.
Co-operative Insurance Society (CIS) has teamed up with sports giant UMBRO for its "Kit Out The Stars" initiative asking pupils to design a futuristic football kit.
Pupils across Lancashire in years three to six are being asked to draw what they think football kits of the future should look like, and write about any special design features and what material should be used.
Winners will receive a full junior football kit for their school, runners-up will win football equipment and one overall winner will be made into an actual kit by UMBRO.
Leaflets promoting the initiative are being sent to schools across the UK throughout the school year, and children in Lancashire have until April 6 to send their entries in.
Paul Burke, social accountability manager at CIS, said: "Football shirts are a popular fashion item with many children today, so we thought it would be interesting to get them to put their idea of the perfect kit to paper."
