WITTON Park hot shots Charlotte Pearson and Hollie Smith guided their school to success.
The super strikers netted 15 goals between them as Witton lifted the Women's International Week's schools five-a-side title. However, it wasn't just down to the scoring feats of Charlotte and Hollie and goalkeeper Natalie Rigby and her defenders conceded just two goals in the tournament held at Shadsworth Leisure Centre.
The event attracted five schools, including Darwen Moorland, Darwen Vale, Queen's Park and beaten finalists Our Lady and St John.
The teams played each other in a mini league where Darwen Vale were eliminated and the top four teams progressing in to the semi finals.
Witton went through the league unbeaten and finished top of the table.
After drawing 1-1 with Darwen Moorland, Witton beat Queens Park and Our Lady and St John, both 2-0, to book their place in the last four, before beating Darwen Vale 4-0. In the semi final, Witton Park beat Queens Park 4-0 while Our Lady and St John beat Darwen Vale 2-0.
And in the final, Witton conceded only their second goal of the tournament but Smith and Pearson were on target again to secure a 2-1 win.
Pearson finished as the tournament's top scorer with eight goals with Smith one behind with seven.
The rest of the wining Witton team included Heidi Grunshaw, Samantha Gray, Carly Thompson, Lisa Southworth and Carla Smith.
