BIKERS have moved up a gear with their new technology thanks to a generous donation of a computer from local firm Ross Computers in Bacup.
Rossendale Valley Motorbike Show was pleased to take delivery of a new computer, printer and software package from the shop in St James Street run by brothers Pete and Steve Shepherd.
Bike show chairman Tony Winder said: "I would like to say big thank-you to Pete and Steve for the computer which will come in very handy to help sort out all the administrative work which running the bike show entails.
"We are planning for a bigger and better bumper show this year to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the show and attract even more people to come into Rawtenstall on September 22.
"The show is run entirely by volunteers with no paid officials so we really appreciate kind donations such as these."
Pete, who also runs the website Rossendale-pages, has also agreed to design the bike show web page for free.
Steve said: "I am a motorcyclist myself and I took my family to the bike show last year for the first time.
"I thought it was very good and I did not know really what to expect. It was only afterwards I realised there were parts I missed because there was so much going on.
"I was really impressed with the organisation and we have backed the show because we want to get involved with local groups and the local community and especially events like this which are so well organised."
