TIGGER the wandering cat is feline fine after being re-united with his owner -- with the help of The Citizen!
The hapless puss was found alone in an empty house on Freckleton Street, Lytham, by an estate agent who passed him to volunteers at cat charity Cats Paws.
Tigger's home address remained a mystery when the Blackburn phone number on the cat's identity disc turned out to be discon>=<=12up in Lytham.
But after an appeal in The Citizen and sister paper the Lancashire Evening Telegraph the black and white tabby was reunited last week with owner Nathan Chippendale -- who lives at Clifton Court, Lytham -- just doors from where Tigger was found!
Tigger's temporary foster mother Linda Davies of Cats Paws said Nathan's grandma June Mustard from Accrington had read the appeal in the LET and got in touch.
"I hadn't been home long from work when the phone rang and it was Nathan's grandma. She told me he brought Tigger to Lytham but he hadn't changed the identity disc yet.
"Tigger must have gone out into the garden and followed people into the other house and got shut in. Cats are so inquisitive!"
She added: "I like to sort mysteries out. I am so glad they have found each other again and I made Nathan promise to buy Tigger a new identity disc. The happy ending is thanks to everyone responding to the appeal."
Nathan, 25, said: "He is such a little tinker and we are so happy to have him home. We shouted for him for weeks but he didn't respond. I can't believe he was in the house behind ours all this time."
And it is not the first time the 16-year-old footloose feline has gone walkabout -- he once ran away to a building site -- and the superpuss has been seen jumping from an upstairs window too -- but Nathan said Tigger has been "grounded for two weeks" while he recovers from his latest adventure.
