THE Shakers are to appeal against the red card picked up by Danny Swailes at Brighton last weekend.
The Bury central defender reacted angrily after conceding a penalty to the Seagulls' Bobby Zamora then appeared to push the striker to the ground in protest.
However, after looking at the incident on video Bury boss Andy Preece is to try and get the sending off - only the second in Swailes' career - rescinded.
"Looking at the evidence all he does is grab Zamora's shirt and the letter of the law says that is a booking," said Preece.
"But it still doesn't excuse what he did - it was stupid to retaliate.
"We'll be appealing but after Steve Redmond had his thrown out a few weeks ago I'm not building my hopes up!"
