AN ELECTRICAL fault is suspected of causing a blaze at Radcliffe Junior School on Saturday night (March 16).
A fire crew spent three hours tackling the fire which was reported at the Coronation Road school shortly after 10pm.
The blaze was confined to the roof of the single storey Information Technology Suite which was built just five years ago.
Headteacher Mrs Glen Webb said: "There was a lot of structural and smoke damage and although the computers were removed in one piece, we do not yet know if they have been affected. The children will be very disappointed if they are because they hold a lot of their project work."
She added: "The suite was not used as a classroom so apart from IT studies, the school is operating as normal."
