A TRIP to the seaside could raise thousands of pounds for Bury Hospice.
A total of 27 cyclists undertook the 55-mile journey last year, bringing in £2,300 for the hospice, in Dumers Lane, Radcliffe.
Now Prestwich-based fund-raiser Terry Johnson is hoping to surpass that total and has urged more bikers to rally round and join the ride, scheduled for Sunday, June 16.
They will be part of a mass contingency of riders setting off from Manchester Town Hall, raising money for various charities.
Terry said: "We braved pretty poor weather last year, so we're hoping the sun will shine on us this time.
"We are hoping to outdo last year, by getting more people to take part and raising more money.
"It's a fun day out, but anyone from health clubs or keeping fit who want to put their fitness to test would be most welcome."
The finishing line is Stanley Park where a variety of events are being held throughout the day.
Application forms are available from the hospice on 797 1748, Terry on 773 7448, or at the hospice shop at 89 The Rock. Entry fee is £9.
