RMI manager Steve Waywell has something of a striker crisis as his side bids for a double against title-chasing Dagenham and Redbridge this weekend.
Leigh have the worst record in the league at home and hopes of improving that dismal run have been weakened by the loss of Dino Maamria, who serves the first of a three match ban, and Tony Black, who sustained ligament damage during the trip to Forest Green last week and seems set to be on the sidelines for at least three weeks.
That leaves them with just two fit strikers in Michael Twiss and Marcus Hallows.
Dave Ridings could return from a hamstring injury and Dave German is likely to return at full-back after his replacement last week - Andy Heald - netted twice to secure the points. Dagenham lost away from Victoria Road for the first time in 15 months on Tuesday night when they were thrashed 4-0 at Barnet, but Waywell believes that could only work against the Railwaymen.
"It has been a nice run for them but they will be looking to make amends after losing their top spot," he said.
"Keeping a run going is always very nice but in a different way it will be a big weight off their shoulders. They have responded well after every defeat so far this season so we will need to keep focused and play at our best to get a result
"This isn't a game where we can get sloppy because we have got to perform. We still are not mathematically safe so that is our first target and then we can start to set ourselves more."
