ROVERS have rejected an enquiry from Wolves to take full-back John Curtis on a month's loan.
Molineux chief Dave Jones is a long-standing admirer of the former Manchester United defender who has struggled to command a regular first team place at Ewood this season.
But Rovers have blocked the move because they don't want to part with any member of their senior squad at such a crucial stage in the season.
"There was an enquiry about him being available on loan but with eight games to go we are not in a position to loan out any members of our squad," said chief executive John Williams.
Wolves boss Jones may now come back with a permanent offer for the player in the summer -- depending on whether or not the Midlands club win promotion.
"I highly rate John Curtis. I think he is one of the most promising young fullbacks in the country and why he is not playing this season regularly at Rovers is beyond me. "Ideally, I would like John to come on loan now with a view to signing him in the summer, however Rovers will not loan him out currently due to their position in the league. And until we are promoted I have no money to spend to go out and buy him."
