THIS year's Wigan International Jazz Festival is being linked to the Commonwealth Games.
The 17th annual festival will take place between July 12-21 and plans to offer fans an impressive line-up of some of the Commonwealth's top jazz performers.
Artists due to play include the ever popular Woody Herman Orchestra, Monty Alexander from Jamaica, Australian vocalist Marie Wilson as well as bands from South Africa and Canada.
As well as the artists the festival will host a a free Fringe Festival, late night jam sessions and a programme of jazz workshops.
