LANCASTER University is hosting an open day next month for people interested in joining its successful Summer College in July.
The Summer College is a five-week intensive course for students who have the ability to get into higher education but feel they need extra qualifications or preparation.
Co-ordinator, June Watson, said: "This is the fifth year we've run this programme and we know we're on to a winner.
"So many students who have taken the Summer College have come back and told us how much they enjoyed the course.
"It wasn't hard to persuade some of them to write about their experiences for our new Summer College information pack."
The Summer College is free as part of a Government initiative and applicants must meet certain conditions, such as a low personal or family income, being the first in the family to enter higher education, being a mature student or coming from an ethnic minority background. For further information on the open day, which takes place on Saturday, April 13, or the college, contact Liz Bamford on 01524 592622.
