AN INTERNATIONAL telephone scam run by a Canadian firm is targeting Lancaster residents, local police have revealed.
The con involves phone calls from a Toronto company calling itself 'International Winners.' The victim I then told that they have been selected to win a large cash prize but, if they want to receive their winnings, they must pay one per cent of the prize to the firm and another sum of money for customs fees.
However, Lancaster police say the scheme is bogus and anyone who receives such a call should disregard it.
