WHAT would you like Radcliffe to be like in 2022?
The town and how it could be in 20 years' time is one of the central themes of the next meeting of Radcliffe Area Board on March 28.
Discussions have already begun about Radcliffe's future and the vision for it.
Area Board chairman, Coun Barry Briggs, said: "We are seeking not just the ideas but also the commitment of local people and we are particularly keen to engage our young people.
"After all, in 20 years' time, many of them will have made their homes and their families in Radcliffe and be very much part of it. It seems only right that they should be the ones having a say now."
He added: "At the same time we are seeking the views of our older members in the community, for it is important that we involve all in producing a real vision for the future. That way, with a firm strategy in place, we will be in a better position when talking to potential investors and developers."
Also on the agenda will be a discussion about policing in Radcliffe and the Crime and Disorder Reduction Strategy, the Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations will figure prominently and there will be a 45-minute Open Forum for issues of concern to be raised.
In addition there will be a presentation about library improvements in the town and an update on the Radcliffe Skatepark where work has just begun.
Copies of the agenda will be available on the night, or they can be obtained in advance from David Hanson on 0161-253-5131. For further information about the Area Board and its workings, contact area co-ordinator Ros Glover on 0161-253-7455/5107.
