A NATIONAL supermarket chain today revealed it will spend £110,000 in a bid to cut queues.

Kwik Save said the investment for the supermarket, in New Hall Hey, Rawtenstall, would enable shoppers to 'speed' through the check-outs.

The branch, next to Rawtenstall Railway Station, undergoes a 'makeover' as part of a £28million nationwide investment programme. Improvements include a new non-food aisle selling a range of household goods, clothing and toys.

Kwik Save has already introduced streamlined check-outs to reduce waiting times for shoppers and customers no longer have to pay separately when buying goods from concessions Ryan Meats butchers and Kwik Fruits.

Store manager Jane Sheldon, said: "We are confident that our customers will be delighted with the 'new look' Kwik Save.

"We will continue to offer high quality customer care and professional service to local shoppers."

The supermarket has also been decorated in bright, cheerful colours and staff have ben supplied with new uniforms and extra training.

The new-look Rawtenstall store will relaunch on March 21.
