TERRA FRANCA VINHO BIANCO 2001, £3.99, Morrisons
THE third of Aldi's trio of South American beauties is this Central Valley "Cab Sav" -- and it's the best of an astonishing bunch. Smooth and full of rich, blackcurrant flavours, this ruby wine is all too easy to drink. Since it will keep for a couple of years it is well worth stocking up with a few bottles at such a ridiculous price.
CHILEAN CABERNET SAUVIGNON, £2.99, Aldi
PORTUGAL is often overlooked as a source of wine -- except for port and the ubiquitous Mateus Rose. Here is a lovely lemony, dry white with hints of grapefruit from one of the best Portuguese producers. Three native grapes are blended with Southern Europe's Malvasias to produce a treat on special this month, with three bottles for £10.
