PUPILS at Towneley High School in Burnley proved themselves a talented bunch in a Stars in Their Eyes style contest this week.
The final came after of a week of heats in which pupils from every year in the school competed.
Eight pupils performed to an audience of around 150 and the host was teacher Dave Warren impersonating the TV talent show presenter Matthew Kelly.
Three teachers in shades and wigs judged the event.
Overall winner was year nine pupil Sian Maymond as Jennifer Lopez, Adele Coleman of year ten reached second place as Celine Dion and third was Gemma Crawford of year eight as Leanne Rimes.
Other performers included three year 11 boys as Blur.
The event, which was the brainchild of music teacher Jill Eaton, is likely to become a regular feature in the school calendar.
Head teacher David Hinks said: "It was a fantastic evening."
