A DEDICATED councillor and former councillor from Pendle were made Freemen of the borough.
Coun Roy Clarkson is stepping down in May after 26 years serving Reedley Ward on Pendle Council missing several meetings in recent months because of ill health.
The 1993 mayor was unable to attend the meeting to collect his Freedom scroll.
And former councillor Kenneth Spence was also honoured with freedom of the borough to acknowledge his service to the former Nelson Council from 1952 to 1974 and then on the new Pendle Council, He served as a Clover Hill councillor until 1996. He was Mayor of Nelson in 1966-67 and was chairman of Pendle Council in 1974-75.
