A COMPANY boss who has six businesses throughout Lancashire has been disqualified as a director for eight years.
John Christopher Walsh, of Ramsgreave, Blackburn, was a director of businesses -- many in East Lancashire -- which failed with combined debts of more than £1.8million.
He was disqualified at Blackburn County Court earlier this month.
His businesses in East Lancashire included Browns Manufacturing Ltd, which made wire products from its Britannia Works base in Great Harwood and went into liquidation on November 1999 with an estimated debt of £879,672 and Merchandising Display Logistics Ltd, which also made wire products from Wellfield Mill, in Whalley Old Road, Blackburn.
Merchandising Display Logistics went into administrative receivership in October 19997, owing at least £120,146.
Others included Europa Automatic Systems and Services Ltd, which also traded from Wellfield Mill and went into liquidation in 1999 with estimated debts of £147,011 and the Blakewater Group of Blackburn, also trading from Wellfield Mill, which acted as a distributor, servicer and installer of glass and dishwashing equipment. It went into administrative receivership in 1999 owing around £104,672.
