BURY'S biggest classic and vintage car show has attracted sponsorship from a car company.

Dixon Ford has donated the £600 needed to stage the Ramsbottom and District Sports Advisory Council's car show on June 15 at Ramsbottom's Nuttall Park.

It will be just one of the main attractions at the Festival of Sport fun day which concludes the popular Sports Week in the town. Dixon, who are planning a new north Manchester headquarters at Crostons Road, will be taking its racing cars to the event.

Car show organiser Mr Graham Kirby said: "It is great news. The competition attracts owners from across the country and is the biggest event of its kind in the area. It is a must see for all car enthusiasts in the region."

Mr Karl Green, general manager of Dixon Ford on Derby Street, said: "Funding the Ramsbottom and District Sports Advisory Council's event is just our way of saying thank you to our customers in Bury."
