RESIDENTS of Cliviger took part in a clean-up to rid the village of litter.
It was organised by the community association and parish council.
The team of about 40 people, aged from five to 85, joined in the litter pick on Saturday afternoon.
Treasurer of the community asscociation Tony Harrison was overwhelmed by the number who turned out to help but critical of the reason for the clean-up.
He said: "The amount of rubbish people drop is disgraceful. If they were made to realise they could be prosecuted, they might think twice about spreading litter.
