THREE charities are set to receive a £300 cash boost thanks to kind-hearted policemen in the Pennine Division of Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale.
The money, raised in a staff lottery scheme, will go to Pendleside Hospice, Cancer Research and the National Deaf Children's Society.
Chief Supt John Knowles, division commander, will join with Sgt Stan Heaton and charity representatives for a presentation at Burnley police station on Tuesday, March 26.
Sgt Heaton who arranges the lottery explained: "Current and retired police officers as well as support staff take part in the lottery.
"They were asked to nominate specific charities and these were the three nominations."
He added: "We are delighted to be able to hand over the cash which I know will be put to very good use by the three charities.
"We hope to be able to administer the scheme for a considerable number of years."
