THE chairman of Burnley's Task Force report made a special visit to the town to attend the 10th Community Organisations Forum annual general meeting.
The event held on Sunday afternoon at Stoneyholme and Daneshouse Youth and Community Centre attracted more than 100 members of the public.
Guest Speakers included Leader of Burnley Council, Stuart Caddy, Lord Tony Greaves, Councillor Rafique Malik, Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh, Mizanur Rahman and Inspector Jeff Brown of Burnley Police.
Chairman of Burnley Task Force, Lord Tony Clarke said that it was an honour to be back in Burnley and among all his good friends that he had made when working with the Task Force.
He said: "The people of Burnley have all worked hard together to rid the town of the dreadful experience that happened throughout that terrible weekend in June."
All of the speakers at the meeting praised Lord Clarke and said he was the back bone that made Burnley's Task Force Report so successful.
Lord Clarke added "I have been praised unnecessarily for my work but it is not me who should be getting all the recognition it is the people of the town who have joined together to fight against racist behaviour.
"There are a lot of things that I agree with but I do not agree with pushing cultures together if they do not want to be pushed together, this would just drive and even bigger rift between the communities.
"Who knows in some years to come we will all live together and will be able to share each others diverse cultures."
