PRESTON manager Kelham O'Hanlon was delighted to have secured three valuable points after his first game in charge.

And after the departure of David Moyes to Everton he is pleased with the way his side have rallied round.

O'Hanlon, speaking after their 2-0 win at Stockport, said: "I'm pleased for the boys because I think the players have been brilliant over the last 10 to 12 days.

"It was obviously a transitional period and I think they have got what they deserved today. It was a fantastic performance and a good win.

"We are right in the play-off race, and I've said it all along, we'll probably see a clearer picture after the two games over Easter. But today's win puts us right back into it.

"We scored two great goals. I thought we were dominant in the first half and you settle for one goal. But on this performance I thought we deserved to be more up.

"Paul McKenna's goal was superb. Paul is an excellent striker of the ball and it's a move that those people who follow us will have seen before. Paul executed it superbly today.

"Clyde Wijnhard came in and did a smashing job. He only met the boys yesterday and he fitted in very well.

"He's our player, we signed him this week after his contract with Huddersfield was cancelled.

"Richard Cresswell could have had two or three. He was a little bit disappointed with himself at half-time but we just told him keep on going and you'll get your break'.

"And I thought he stuck his goal away brilliantly at a very important time for us."
