ONE of Darwen's biggest employers is helping spread the magic of Disney across the nation's walls.
Workers at Akzo Nobel Decorative Coatings Ltd, Crown House, in Hollins Road, Darwen, have produced a new brand of paint for the entertainment giant.
The company, which employs more than 1,000 people in the town, has made 48 paints in four themes inspired by some of Disney's best loved characters.
It is the first time that Disney has worked with Crown Paints, the range which Akzo Nobel produces.
The paints are designed to bring the magic of Disney to children's bedrooms. There are blues and reds inspired by Mickey, Donald and Goofy, and shades like Sparkling Carriage, Enchanted Rose and Ballgown Pink to recreate a fairytale 'castle' fit for a princess.
Bedrooms can be turned the Hundred Acre Wood from Winnie the Pooh with shades such as Melted Butter, Hunny Yellow and Yummy Yummy, while colours like Buzz Green and Star Drift will take a room to infinity and beyond with Buzz Lightyear.
The tins of paint hit the shelves of B and Q stores across the country this weekend.
Disney has also produced a selection of stickers, stamps and stencils to go with the paints.
