CLITHEROE-ATTACHED pro Paul Dwyer enjoyed a fantastic weekend of golf to finish seventh, his highest ever finish, in the European Tour event the Madeira Island Open.
The 28-year-old from Read overshadowed Shaw Hill's Nick Dougherty, who missed the cut after rounds of 76 and 73, to pick up prize money of around £9,000.
And it could have been even better but for a final round total of 75 after scores of 71, 70 and 69 in the first three.
He was just one shot behind the leaders going into the final day.
